Saw a truck driver today TAZ who must have been keen on your number. It was a Boral tipper and tipper trailer combo and he had general issue ***-666 on the truck and normal trailer P**-666 on the back.

The next date of interest will be very lucky!!

July 7th, 2007. Or exactly at 07:07 local time.

Why? Seven is a lucky number.

0707 07 07 07

or (since 8 is a lucky number in Chinese lore):

August 8th, 2008. Or exactly 08:08 local time.

0808 08 08 08

Hope everyone had a devil of a good time on Devil Day (6-6-6)

A bit of addition to Devil Day.

Got an email from a friend of mine in Michigan. There is this place
called Hell in Michigan (it does exist).

She says

"And I've even been to Hell! It's a small town (crossroads, actually- it's not incorporated) about 20 miles or so from home. The ice cream store was selling cones for 66 cents today, and pizza for $6.66; there were also $6.66 pitcher specials at the Dam Site Inn this evening, according to the radio this morning. I've even ridden my bike through Hell- there's an annual "One Helluva Ride" in July- multiple routes, and many of them go right through town. Hell freezes over every winter."

So there you have it.

A friend of mine has actually been to hell and back.

To borrow from my bestest Oostralian buddy, Mr. Vic-coord :worship:

WooooooooooooooOOOOOOOooowwwooooooooo

Was standing out the front of my shop today talking to a customer, when a 4WD whizzed by. It had Garden State plates with 666.666 on them.

Thought it may be worthy of mention.

Well, look at what eye seen today. Yep! The same 4WD was parked out the front of my place this afternoon. So I went and grabbed my camera this time.

The Garden state plates have been replaced. I wonder where they got to Taz?

I can remember going to Alderney many years ago. Very interesting place, lots of WW2 relics about, underground German hospital, steam train in rubbish dump, all taxis were Peugeots and there was the bow (front bit?) of a ship blown up in the war sticking out of the water within easy swimming distance of the main beach. Is it still there today or have the safety police had it removed. In those days I think all the plates were just A**** and not AY**** as they are today.

Alderney is still a very interesting place and the friendliest place that we have ever been too. I can thoroughly recommend it. As you say there are an awful lots of German relics from the second World War. The whole Island was evacuated with only 24 hours notice and the Germans had the run of the place for years, fascinating history.

There have been numerous shipwrecks around the Island due to its location and the strong currents but none are currently visable.

To the best of my knowledge the plates have always been AY followed by up to 4 numbers since they were introduced in the 1920's. Interestingly probably about half the plates are the old black and silver acrylic ones which are very fashionable. You might be surprised to know that a lot of the taxis are still Peugeots!

Thanks for the story Mr C.
I remember reading about highway 666 some years ago and always thought that it went right up to Canada. Well, after a little more research I find that Ontario actually had their own highway 666. Here are a few details.
Attached File  hwy666.jpg   20K   5 downloads
Hwy 666 Quick Facts:
Status: Became Hwy 658 in 1985
Years in Existence: 1975-1985
Location: Northwestern Ontario
Southern Terminus: Hwy 17 junction in Kenora
Northern Terminus: CNR Station in Redditt
Length in 1984: 29.3 km / 18.2 miles
From the website thekingshighway.ca

And here is another site you may like to have a look at if you're thinking of traveling highway 191/491 (666)
"Highway To Hell"
:surprise:

Today I had a copy of the Melbourne Herald -Sun newsrag for a change and what do I find but a famous 'shedder' mentioned on the front page and a write up in the sports section.

But no, a great disappointment - turned out to be a story about a footballer in trouble for nightclubbing when he should have been sleeping. (Or something like that.)
