I have a HUGE dilemma to which I would appreciate some advise from the wise people of the "Shed"......... let me start at the beginning. 

 

 

It all started with a visit from one of those very worldly collectors from down Mexico way (the OZ one). As we were standing in my workshop/garage looking at the plates on the walls, one of which is covered in 666 plates, and trying to decide what time we should leave for the Currumbin SLSC (see post #4 HERE for details) my very worldly visitor just happened to mention something in conversation about my rather large collection of 666 plates. I was completely perplexed/amazed at his statement........... 

I was in such a quandary I headed straight for the Mac and fired up Google Search..... it couldn't be true, could it????

Oh yeah, the statement...... I haven't told you the statement..... well my "friend" said to me "Did you know 666 is not the Devils number? It's 616"  ........ really..... 616..... no, can't be!! Seriously, 616, how boring!!

 

Anyway, back to Google, and there it was, a website ReligionNewsBlog.com (click on it and have a look) stating that “This is a very nice piece to find,” Dr. Aitken said. “Scholars have argued for a long time over this, and it now seems that 616 was the original number of the beast.”

 

 

Yeah, nice for the Dr. but what about my many $'s spent on my 666 plates!!

 

So, back to the dilemma....... do I ignore my "friends" statement and stick with my 666 plates or do I sell them and start all over with 616 plates?? 

 

Any help at all will be appreciated.........

We learnt at school that it was six hundred, threescore and six, which is 666.

 

Everyone is trying to rewrite something or other these days.

I would stick with your 666 plates, and tell your mate not to go upsetting you like that. (hi John)
